The National Stud's Open Day on Sunday was a great success, with 27-year-old superstar of the racing world, Desert Orchid pulling in the crowds from all over the country.

26/09/2006 : Success for New Stud Secretaries’ Course at National Stud
A total of 12 delegates attended the National Stud’s inaugural Stud Secretaries Course at Wavertree House last week. The course aimed to provide information for new entrants to the profession as well as furthering the career of established secretaries. This course, sponsored by Equisoft, is one of the first courses to be developed under the auspices of the new Wavertree Charitable Trust.

TABITHA SMITH has been appointed Training and HR Manager of the National Stud, in Newmarket, and will take up her position in the Autumn.

20/07/2006 : Early start to training career for National Stud's 'Visitor of the Year'
This weekend will see a dream come true for eight-year-old Andy Clegg from Watford. His overriding hobby is horseracing and, earlier this year, he was named National Stud's Visitor of the Year after dragging his very accommodating mother to Newmarket, to visit the Stud, on five separate occasions during last season. His ambition is to have a career in the business and, thanks to Henry Cecil, it looks like his lucky break has come at a very early age.

12/07/2006 : Celebrations for Diploma Students
On 12th July, 21 Diploma Students graduated from the National Stud in Newmarket. They were presented with their diplomas and prizes by Mr John Dunlop OBE and Mr Andrew Parrish, Chairman of the National Stud.

Following two years of detailed discussions with the Charity Commission, Levy Board and DCMS, The National Stud has reached a landmark in its history by being granted charitable status in respect of its non-commercial activities.

Following the statement on the future of the Levy Board, issued on 18th March by the Rt. Hon Richard Caborn, Minister for Sport and Tourism, The National Stud has expressed its pleasure with the contents, particularly in respect of the recommended completion of the previously budgeted grant to the Stud.
