The Trust conducts a programme of evening lectures between February and June each year. The lectures are open to any interested parties and represent an ideal educational forum for stud and stable staff wishing to advance their knowledge. Presentations are made by internationally renowned speakers. There is a fee for attendance at this programme, which consists of at least 35 lectures. A certificate of attendance will be provided for delegates who have attended at least 75% of the lectures.

The Equisoft Stud Secretary's Course is a one week intensive for those wishing to pursue a career as a Stud Secretary. The course begins on 20th August 2007.
The course covers a wide range of topics, giving an overview of all areas a Stud Secretary would encounter. For example lectures are given on the organisation of the racing and breeding industry and operations on a commercial stud. Delegates are given a practical introduction to using stud software and taken on a day trip to Weatherbys to include an explanation of the registration process.
Future plans include the development of new courses to meet the increasing demands of the wider equine breeding industry. The Stud is working closely with the Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association in the development of the new courses.

We have also established a partnership with Ipswich Town Football Club to provide an after-school learning club called ‘The Winning Post’. This is sponsored by the Government’s ‘Playing for Success’ initiative which is aimed at under-achieving pupils between 8 and 12 years of age and extends their learning day into a sporting environment, making particular use of modern computer technology. This has been a tremendous success and we are extremely proud of the students’ achievements. The students undertake a tour of the stud and utilise our training resources to further their education. A total of 450 young people went through this club in 2005/06.
